New Mexico Launches Statewide eLearning Initiative : July 20

New Mexico has decided to use the Blackboard portal for its statewide learning initiative for K-12 and colleges and universities. This is a direction many states, colleges, universities and school systems may take along with free distribution online sites such as iTunesU, Amazon, Zune Marketplace, YouTube and all of the gaming portals. However, this could raise concerns about having an open sourced online educational content delivery service that has been championed by digital advocates and some large firms like Google. This use of Blackboard is promising, but maybe a free back up system should be available too!
